Universal Laptop Charger

People in our time simply will not survive without laptops. A laptop, however, is no good when the battery is empty. You can do nothing with it and it serves no purpose. Certain or specialized laptop chargers go with the best laptop brand. It would be quite difficult indeed to tote around a laptop without a charger. Chargers are needed so that the battery can store power which will be enough for a person to use even if the laptop is not plugged in to a power source.

Most cheap laptops, when purchased, also come with their own chargers, as well as laptop cases. However, a lot of things happen and chargers can get damaged or broken. When this occurs, we just go to the nearest store which sells computers as well as chargers but there are times when we encounter difficulties looking for chargers of a certain brand and model.

• Quality. This is one of the most important things to look for. It is good to start with checking out the technical details and specifications of the charger. Make sure that your laptop is compatible with the charger. People say universal chargers are compatible with almost all brands. They key word here is “almost”, so that means not all brands are compatible. Check if the charger has a surge protector and ease of installation. There is no point in buying a charger with a surge protector which takes hours to install. Look at the number of pins. On average, universal laptop chargers have around 8 pin connectors.
• Voltage. Check whether the charger automatically switches voltage between 15V and 19.5V. There are some chargers which do that automatically but you might need to do it manually on others. Verify is there is a need for an adapter. Again, there are some which need it, and others which do not. Do not assume that if a thing if true for one charger, it is also true with all chargers.
• Power supply. Chargers with retractable cords are a hit. You will be able to pull out the cord to any length you like and when you stop, it simply stays there. It goes in when you give it a slight tug. There are disadvantages to retractable power supplies. The tension on the cables causes the connectors to not lock in place and this might result to frequent disconnects, which is never a pleasant thing. You will need a stronger and thicker cable for this.
• Accessories. Some laptop chargers as well as universal laptop charger car use come with bags where you can store them if they are not in use. This is a good way of keeping organized. It is not pleasant to see cords sticking out everywhere.
